Copyright & Takedown

So Far So Good exists to protect unreleased music, not to exploit it. Copyright in every project remains with the producer at all times, and every Early Copy Download carries an embedded notice saying so. We respond promptly to reports that content on the platform infringes someone else’s rights.

Creators may only upload music that is their own work and whose rights they fully own or control, including samples — this is a core promise of the Creator Terms. Uploading someone else’s music, released or unreleased, is a serious breach.

If you are a copyright owner — or authorised to act for one — and believe music or other content on the platform infringes your rights, the quickest route is the “Report a copyright issue” link at the bottom of every track page: it asks for exactly what we need and goes straight to our review team.

You can also send us a full notice through the contact form. A complete notice contains:

• identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed (or a representative list, if there are several);
• where the material is on the platform — a link to the project page, or enough detail for us to locate it;
• your name, postal address, email address and, if available, a phone number;
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
• a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them;
• your physical or electronic signature.

Reach our Copyright Agent through the contact form (pick the Copyright topic) — or use the “Report a copyright issue” form on the track page itself. Both routes reach the same review team.

We review notices promptly. Depending on what we find, we may:

• temporarily disable access to the material — including its previews and any further Early Copy Downloads — while we look into the claim;
• contact the member who uploaded it, passing along the substance of the notice;
• investigate the claim;
• permanently remove the content when the claim holds up;
• suspend accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material.

We keep the reporter informed where we reasonably can, and nothing here stops us acting faster when the infringement is obvious.

If your upload was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same contact form containing:

• identification of the removed material and where it appeared;
• a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
• your name, address and email, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts at your address (or, if outside the relevant jurisdiction, to a court where we may be found);
• your physical or electronic signature.

Unless the original claimant informs us within 10–14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.

Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material are terminated. We keep records of notices to identify repeat infringement across projects and accounts.

Knowingly filing a false infringement notice or counter-notice can make you liable for the damages it causes, including costs and legal fees. Do not use the takedown process to attack music you simply dislike or to unmask an Anonymous Creator.

For users in the European Union, the same notice process serves as our notice-and-action mechanism under Article 16 of the Digital Services Act. Notices with the elements listed above give us what we need to act quickly regardless of which regime applies to you.
